Diverse Learning Environments

Infants

All of our teachers are Infant/Nursery Supervisors, which means that they are educated and trained in infant/toddler theory and practices. They are all certified in adult/pediatric CPR and Universal Precautions.

Our classrooms typically operate at one teacher to five students.  Teachers implement baby sign language into curriculum. We offer a safe and secure environment that requires a private code to enter the center.

Six weeks to eight months old is our Newborn Classroom. Each child is on their own schedule in this room. Children spend a lot of free time on the floor so they can learn to roll over, sit up and crawl on their own.

Six to fourteen months is our Crawling Classroom. Every child is on their own schedule in this room. Children learn to play with others in this classroom. They build with blocks, read books and play with musical instruments. They may spend time outside if the weather is nice.

The Walking Classroom is for twelve to eighteen months old. This classroom is on a schedule for meals and naps to prepare them to move to the Preschool building at 18 months. Children in this classroom go on the playground twice a day and start working with self-art.

Toddlers

All of our teachers are certified with the state requirements of early education. We take pride in building the academic foundation for your child’s bright future. We offer a safe and secure environment that requires a private code to enter the center. Monthly lesson plans are devised using the Creative Curriculum component. In addition we use the state approved assessment tool provided by teaching strategies gold.

Toddler 1:

This classroom is designed for our younger toddlers aging from  12 to 24 months. By having this age range we are able to determine the right classroom for your child depending on their development. The Toddler one class transitions  young toddlers from two naps a day into one nap a day. They learn to sleep on a cot instead of a crib. This classroom is also set up to help your child learn to sit and do activities and feedings at the table rather than in a high chair. This is also where they learn the basics of structure in classroom environment: Circle time, small group activities, outside time, meal time, nap time. Sign language and Spanish is also used in this classroom.

Reviews

My daughter went here from 2.5 until she went to kinder and my son went to summer camp here for 2 summers. When we started it was miss Catherine’s and we almost pulled my daughter out because miss Catherine was very judgmental and never nice to us (and honestly the programming wasn’t great) but then Alissa bought it and it became the school we loved! I never doubted my kids were in good hands and the curriculum was great and really got my daughter ready for kindergarten! My son had SO much fun in the summer program! Alissa (the owner) is amazing and always has the kids best interest at heart and it shows. The center got 100x better and is growing and modernizing in all the right ways. I always recommend it when friends with younger kids ask. Is a great place for learning, growing and playing! – Bonnie T.
